This is a unique opportunity for educators of all disciplines to visit Costa Rica, a small nation renowned for diversity and natural beauty, as well as for its efforts in cultural and environmental conservation. - The NEEF offers High School Challenge Grants to teachers with at least three years of experience in order to broaden the ecological or environmental content of their curricula offerings or for a project that focuses on a particular ecological or environmental concern. - American Immigration Law Foundation's Teacher Grant Program
- The American Immigration Law Foundation will award grants nationwide for the 2008-2009 school year, of $100 to $500, to fund a limited number of K-12 grade level projects that provide education about immigrants and immigration. The Foundation seeks to fund activities that are innovative and supportive of AILF's mission of promoting the benefits of immigrants to our nation.Applications are limited to educators teaching in public or private primary, intermediate, and secondary level schools. Proposals that are classroom-based will receive strong consideration, and the Foundation encourages projects that can be replicated in other classrooms across the nation. Funds for field-trips will not be granted. Grants are non-renewable. AILF is always looking for innovative and creative ideas, this year focus will be emphasized on proposals that relate to the following categories: innovative use of technology, underrepresented minorities, community outreach and partnerships with community based organizations, and math and science.

- ING Unsung Heroes
- Awards are given to K-12 educators pioneering new teaching methods and techniques that improve learning based on innovative methods, creativity, and ability to positively influence students. Each year, 100 finalists are selected to receive a $2,000 award, payable to both the winning teacher and his or her school. At least one award is granted in each of the 50 states, provided at least one qualified application was received from each state.

- Sponsored by Lemelson-MIT, InvenTeams is a national grant initiative that fosters inventiveness among high school students. InvenTeams asks high school students, teachers and mentors to collaboratively identify a problem that they want to solve, research the problem, and then develop a prototype invention as an in-class or extracurricular project. Teachers apply with students for grants of up to $10,000 to support each team's efforts.

- The Jordan Fundamentals Grant Program recognizes outstanding teaching and instructional creativity in public secondary schools that serve economically disadvantaged students. First to twelfth grade public school teachers or paraprofessionals in schools with at least 50% of the student body eligible for free or reduced lunch may apply by developing an original lesson plan or thematic unit that demonstrates high expectations for students. Up to 400 grants of $2,500 will be awarded each year. They may be used for resource materials, supplies, equipment, transportation, costs related to field trips, software, and other items required to implement and assess the proposed lesson or thematic unit.

- This is a matching grant program open to organizations, individuals, schools, and community groups that wish to launch or expand the teaching of Italian in their local public or private elementary, intermediate, or high schools. The grant money may be used to purchase teaching materials, pay teacher and/or teacher’s aide salaries, or towards any legitimate and academically sound activity that furthers the study of Italian in the school for one academic year. The language program may be held before, during or after school hours. Grants range from $500 to $2,000 per year.

- The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation supports music education and its many benefits through the donation of new and refurbished musical instruments to underserved school and community music programs and individual students nationwide. K-12 schools can apply for this grant. The foundation makes repairs to damaged instruments, distributes refurbished instruments and then purchases new instruments.

- The Music Is Revolution Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by musician and rock icon Michael Davis of the MC5 to provide $500 grants to public school teachers who incorporate music education into their curriculums. The grants are offered to teachers at all grade levels and in all subjects (not just to music teachers, but to teachers of any subject).

- Children for Children Grant
- Children for Children provides resources to New York City schools and educators via grants and hands-on events and programs that invite students to focus on helping others and to focus on gaining personal skills, problem-solving skills, self-respect, character development and self discipline. To qualify for grants, schools must demonstrate evidence of leadership and progress. In the past, grants have ranged from $5,000 to $28,000 providing materials such as musical instruments, microscopes, libraries and much more.

- A+ for Energy program
- California and Texas K-12 teachers can apply for the BP A+ energy grants. The Program was developed by BP to recognize teachers for innovation and excellence in teaching energy and/or energy conservation in the classroom. - K-12 teachers with a minimum of three years teaching experience as a full time teacher spending at least 50% of the time in a classroom or classroom-like setting, in an eligible area, can apply for this grant by designing a professional development experience. Eligible applicants may apply as an individual or as a team; the funding limit is $5,000 per person and $10,000 total per team of two or more. Applicants submit a written online proposal explaining how their experience will make them a better teacher and how the applicant’s improved skills or capacity will be implemented in the classroom, benefiting students, curricula and school. - The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) annually awards the A. - Fellowships are awarded for graduate study of the U.S. Constitution. - Frontiers in Physiology Professional Development Fellowship
- Sponsored by the American Physiological Society, this fellowship is a yearlong immersion into physiology and biomedical research for grade 6-12 science teachers. Awardees conduct research during the summer in the laboratory of a local APS researcher and explore teaching methods that integrate inquiry, equity, and the Internet. Fellows receive $8,500 in stipends, materials, and travel; they also present their research at the annual APS meeting.

- The Wright Center grants full-year Fellowships providing support for study and professional advancement to teachers of grades K-12, who have 5+ years of science teaching experience. Wright Fellowships are awarded to pre-college teachers, based anywhere in the world, whose significant innovations in their school's science curriculum have improved their students' understanding of science. Each Fellow receives a stipend of $45,000 in addition to a sum of up to $500 to be used for books, equipment, travel, and science education-related software, as well as a contribution of up to $2000 toward transportation/relocation costs. Faculty and health benefits are also included. Fellows are expected to be in residence from September through July at the main Tufts University campus in Medford, Massachusetts.

- Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship Program
- This grant program offers 10- to 11-month staff positions at various federal agencies or congressional offices in Washington, D.C., including the Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, and NASA. Fellows receive a monthly stipend of $5,500, plus travel and moving expenses. Applicants are judged on excellence in math, science, and technology instruction; innovation; professional growth and leadership; communication skills; and knowledge of national, state, and local policies affecting education. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, have at least five years’ teaching experience, and be employed full time in science, mathematics, or technology classrooms at a public or private school.

- This fellowship is opened to US educators in grades 7 – 12 who serve as leaders in Holocaust education for their schools, their communities and their professional organizations. These educators must show evidence of extensive knowledge of Holocaust history, successful teaching experience, and participation in community and professional organizations. Museum Teacher fellows will participate in a five-day, all-expense paid summer institute at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., designed to immerse participants in advanced historical and pedagogical issues. Following the summer institute, Teacher Fellows are expected to create and implement an outreach project in their schools, communities, or professional organizations.
