Periodically we compile a list of the best of what the Internet has to offer to teachers—be that in the classroom or just in daily life. The current edition focuses on the importance of dance and movement education from birth through adulthood.

- ACDFA is a yearly conference that promotes achievement in dance education in colleges throughout America.
- ArtsEdge
- This website, provided by the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, offers various resources for teachers, including arts advocacy tips and up-to-date articles on arts education. Also provided are full lesson plans in various art forms, including dance.
- ArtsLynx International Arts Resources
- The Dance Education section of this website provides research on the value of dance in the classroom as well as resources for students conducting their own research on the subject of dance.
- ArtsWork
- ArtsWork is a division of Arizona State University that offers educational materials for K-12 arts education, including a wealth of links on subjects such as how to assess progress in dance and how to create lesson plans in dance.
- Center for Movement Education and Research (CMER)
- According to its website, CMER is “a non-profit organization dedicated to the use of movement and dance as a creative and integrated source for improving educational, medical, social and cultural domains.” They provide creative movement classes for children as well as Continuing Education (CE) seminars for teachers on how to utilize movement in the classroom.
- CyberDance
- CyberDance is an online directory, listing thousands of dance schools and companies as well as colleges that provide dance programs and dance education programs.
- Department of Dance Education at New York University Steinhardt
- This specialized program at NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development provides professional development to anyone seeking to broaden their knowledge of dance education.
- Dance Education Web
- This website is an online resource for dance curriculum development, offering “best practice” resources for educators.
- The Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies-LIMS Online
- This website is an overview of the main ideas behind movement education based on the work of Rudolf Laban and Irmgard Bartenieff. The Institution includes a school, an Arts & Culture program, and a research center.
- MovingandLearning.com
- Moving and Learning emphasizes the importance of movement education in holistic child development from birth through age 8. The creators of the website, Rae Pica and Richard Gardzina, provide online articles as well as books for order on active learning in the classroom and at home.
- National Dance Education Organization
- NDEO is a non-profit organization that promotes high standards of dance education. On their website you can find extensive resources and support for dance educators and administrators.
- San Francisco Ballet
- This section of the San Francisco Ballet’s website provides resources for teaching dance including study guides for various ballets such as the Nutcracker.
