400,000 Posters Distributed for Teacher Appreciation Week
The latest edition of our “Behind Every Famous Person is a Fabulous Teacher” posters were distributed by Scholastic in time for Teacher Appreciation Week, which runs all week from May 4-8. There are 100,00 posters each of actress Cheryl Hines with sister, teacher Ms. Rebecca Hines, R&B artist Ne-Yo with teacher Ms. Carol Treat, NFL player Brian Waters with his teacher Mr. George Solis, and actor Jeremy Piven with his mother, teacher Ms. Joyce Piven. This Teacher Appreciation Week distribution is double the number of posters that TeachersCount sent out last spring!
Two New Famous Faces Join Our PSA Campaign
TeachersCount has been traveling across the nation as Carrie Underwood and Sophia Bush joined with influential teachers from their lives for our “Behind Every Famous Person is a Fabulous Teacher” campaign. Carrie Underwood, four-time Grammy Award winner and winner of the fourth season of American Idol, is joined by her mother and former teacher Carole Underwood, and sisters Stephanie Shelton and Shanna Means, who are both teachers. Sophia Bush, who stars in the TV show One Tree Hill and movies such as The Hitcher and John Tucker Must Die, appears with her English teacher Peter Goss.
