Esther Wojcicki

Esther Wojcicki, Board Member
A 2007 Walt Clarkson Memorial Award for Excellence in Advising winner, Esther Wojcicki teaches journalism at Palo Alto High School, in Palo Alto, California. In 2002, Esther was named California Teacher of the Year. She has written for several different publications, including The Los Angeles Times and Time magazine and has been the recipient of numerous awards.

Diana Burroughs, Executive Director
Diana holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University, where she was the recipient of a Domestic Fulbright for four years. She co-founded PENCIL, a New York-based non-profit whose mission is to encourage private-sector involvement in public education. She most recently served as the Manhattan Borough Deputy to the New York City Schools Chancellor.
Lauren McCollum, Editorial Director
Lauren graduated from Princeton University with a major in English and has recently completed her coursework at NYU for an MFA in Creative Writing. Before joining TeachersCount, she worked as a freelance writer and veterinary technician in Brooklyn. Her work has appeared in Poetry, Willard & Maple, and New Millennium Writings.
Therese Lung, Website Consultant
Therese began her career in Boston, MA, and subsequently worked in Paris, France, before moving to California. Now a NYC resident, she holds a BA in Engineering and Applied Sciences from Harvard University. Her twenty years of software engineering experience include project management, designing web sites, and creating client-server database applications and development tools.

Volunteers

Tim Hartman, Volunteer Coordinator
Tim graduated from Penn State University in 2001 where he majored in Finance and Economics and minored in Art History. Since graduation, he has done business development and marketing work in the information-technology industry. Tim works with leading Fortune 100 companies world-wide on various data exchange projects. He currently lives in New York City where he also works with New York Cares and multiple corporate community outreach groups.
Erin Imgruth
After serving as a public school teacher in Westchester, New York, for 14 years, Erin is now completing work for her EdD (Doctorate in Education) at Columbia University. Erin has participated in multiple education-related projects and programs throughout her career. She also graduated cum laude with an M.S. in Education from SUNY Oneonta.
Allen Kay, marketing consultant to TeachersCount
Allen is CEO of Korey Kay & Partners advertising and one of the most awarded Creative Directors in advertising. The agency gained its reputation by putting companies on the map. Virgin Atlantic Airways, Comedy Central and Celebrity Cruises are among them. Allen is a Graduate Board Member of the AdCouncil and AAAA (American Association of Advertising Agencies), where, when Chairman of their New York Board of Governors, he created the annual "Unthinkable Ideas" new media conference. Allen was a founding member of America's Promise-Colin Powell's alliance for youth, spent eleven years on the steering committee of ABNY (Association for a Better New York), is a Director of YES, Inc. (Youth Education through Sports), and is a member of the Advisory Board of PENCIL, an organization that works to improve New York City's public schools. Allen also served for many years as a consultant to the Marketing Board of the New York Philharmonic. The "Write Your Own Ticket" program was one of his many contributions.
Clint Morgan and Wendy Combs, Morgan Design, Inc.
Morgan Design, based in New York City, is a marketing communications design firm. The company designs websites as well as the full range of print communications, from brochures and newsletters to print ads and presentation kits. A particular focus of their work is the design of annual reports and the design and development of corporate and brand identities. Morgan Design brings a concept-oriented approach to every project they undertake but the solutions they present are always individualized to the needs of the particular client.
Harry Zernike
Since graduating from RISD, Harry Zernike has worked as an architect, furniture maker and photographer in New York City. He won a 2001 Photo District News Photo Annual award for photojournalism and the 2002 ICP/Johnson and Johnson Traveling Fellowship. Harry has generously donated his photographic talents to TeachersCount.
